Russia fired more than 450 explosive-laden drones and 45 missiles across Ukraine, including the capital Kiev, on Friday night. Some of them hit Ukrainian energy infrastructure and residential buildings. At least 11 people were killed and many more were injured.
The BBC says two people were killed in an attack on an apartment building in the city of Dnipro. Twelve others were injured. Three people were reported killed in a Russian attack in Zaporizhia.
Russian attacks were reported in 25 locations across Ukraine overnight, including the capital Kiev. The attacks have caused power outages in many areas.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko said in a telegram that Russian attacks had damaged key energy infrastructure in the country's Poltava, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions. Work is underway to restore power connections.
Al Jazeera reported that a total of 11 people were killed in Russian attacks across Ukraine overnight.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Saturday morning that Russia had fired more than 450 explosive-laden drones and 45 missiles overnight, downing nine missiles and 406 drones.
However, Russia has denied attacking civilian targets in Ukraine, claiming that the attack targeted Ukrainian military forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces shot down 79 Ukrainian drones on Friday night.
